Scherzo allows chromatography in one run of some of the most challenging separations. Highly polar compounds can now be analysed in the same run as hydrophobic compounds with predictable separations. Unlike Ion Pair Chromatography, which is not MS compatible or HILIC, which cannot separate highly polar from non-polar compounds, Scherzo can solve many of these problems.
The chemistry of separation can be adjusted by varying parametes such as pH , ionic strength and salt species, as well as by adjusting organic content of the mobile phase. This allows unusual separations such as Vit C, highly polar from Vit E, highly hydrophobic in a combined normal and reverse phase separation, isocratically.
