Orgentec Diagnostika has released a new highly sensitive laboratory test for Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). The Anti-CCP hs (high sensitive)® test enables the early diagnosis of RA. If treatment is started early, damage to the joints can be prevented and their function maintained.

Autoantibodies agains citrullinated antigens (ACPA), and rheumatoid factor (RF) have been included as determining factors in the current ACR criteria for the classification of RA. The new Anti- CCP hs (high sensitive)® test is the most recent development in the area of ACPA testing.

The innovative enzyme immunoassay from Orgentec, quantitatively detects autoantibodies against specific epitopes of MCV (mutated citrullinated vimentin). The test is based on selected and optimized peptide epitopes of the body’s own protein MCV. As such it is a highly sensitive and extremely specific laboratory test for RA diagnosis.

In combination with medical history, clinical observations, and imaging techniques, serological tests like Anti-CCP hs (high sensitive)® lay the groundwork for early RA diagnosis.
