New LC System Enables Fast Reaction Sampling and Analysis

13 Feb 2007

Eksigent, a developer of advanced low-flow fluid delivery technologies for drug discovery and other life science applications, introduces the ExpressRT™-100 reaction monitoring system, a liquid chromatography-based system for the sampling, quenching, diluting and monitoring of reaction kinetics.

The new system enables quick monitoring of the progress of the reaction, delivering information that makes timely modifications possible. The result is optimized conditions in less time.

The complete system includes the Eksigent ExpressLC-100 capillary LC instrument along with a transfer module that automatically dilutes, quenches and transfers the sample onto the LC. In addition to instrument control and data acquisition, the ExpressRT-100 system software monitors reaction progress and plots trends. The ExpressRT-100 system is ideal for reaction optimization as well as solubility and dissolution testing.

“Process developers are continually looking for the best reaction methods,” commented Phil DeLand, Senior Product Manager for Eksigent. “This sampling advancement gives users timely information that allows for improved optimization decision making, better yields and high quality reactions.”
The ExpressLC-100 runs assays up to five times faster than conventional LC. The system features Eksigent’s proprietary microfluidic control technology along with design features that significantly reduce solvent use compared to other LC methods.

Eksigent is a pioneer in low-flow fluid delivery systems that automate and accelerate proteomics, drug discovery, drug delivery and other life science applications. Eksigent’s core technologies include microscale pumping, microfluidic system design and microfabrication. The company offers solutions for nanoscale liquid chromatography, high-performance capillary liquid chromatography and drug delivery.
