ELGA introduces the MEDICA Pro EDI - a new EDI (Electrodeionisation) water purification system for clinical diagnostic market.

The MEDICA Pro EDI has been developed to produce consistently high purity water at economical running costs for a wide range of applications in modern clinical laboratory including immunochemistry and general chemistry automatic clinical analyzers. Its design is unique, guaranteeing optimum purity. ELGA’s Pulse technology combined with extended intervals between sanitization reduces maintenance time and makes the MEDICA Pro EDI one of the most productive and environmentally friendly systems in its class.

ELGA’s Pulse technology integrates EDI which combines ion exchange resins and ion-selective membranes with direct current to efficiently remove ionized impurities from water. It is complemented by Pre-treatment, Reverse Osmosis, 254 nm UV lamp and Ultra Micro Filtration to produce CLSI Type II pure water that meets and exceeds ASTM D1193, ISO 3696 plus European, USA and Japanese Pharmacopeia standards with guaranteed bacterial specifications <1CFU/mL.

The MEDICA Pro EDI has been designed to fit into any laboratory environment and is easy to operate and maintain. It can be mounted on or under bench for convenient access and incorporates ELGA’s unique wrap-around reservoir to save valuable space.

ELGA has now been accepted on to the NHS Framework for the supply of Pathology plant and equipment. This means that ELGA is now a preferred supplier for this department of the NHS and will be invited to quote for all related business.
