New microplates for ultra-high throughput drug research

24 Jun 2008

Porvair Sciences Ltd. has announced a new range of 1536-well microplates designed for drug research laboratories seeking to miniaturise both compound storage and management as well as cellular and biological assays.

Using a proprietary manufacturing technique Porvair's 1536-well plates offer market leading plate flatness + 0.07mm. This translates into a significant increase in plate tolerance that helps to eliminate mis-handling problems when used within automated environments. Porvair's rounded edge square well design considerably reduces liquid loss on well walls and provides for better liquid recovery by automated liquid handlers. Providing a maximum liquid capacity of just 10ul per well, the new SBS/ANSI format compliant 1536-well plate range is of particular interest to automated laboratories looking to conserve valuable samples and reagents.

Available in black, white or clear polystyrene - Porvair 1536-well plates have been optimised for fluorescence, luminescence / scintillation and ELISA / turbidity measurements respectively. Supplied individually wrapped or in bulk packs of 50, each type of 1536-well plate is certified RNase / DNase free.
