New Range of Digital Dry Baths

27 Feb 2007

Electrophoresis specialists Cleaver Scientific Limited (CSL) have developed a new range of digital dry baths. These have the added bonus of a microprocessor control and digital setting / temperature display. Plus, this range of baths can be used in a wide range of applications including within different laboratory settings, clinical, histology and molecular biology.

The desired temperature created by the high wattage heaters is regulated by the microprocessor, resulting in precise, accurate control. The arrow keys on the sloped panel, and values on the digital display, facilitate the straightforward procedure of setting up the required temperature. There is no need to check or readjust the thermometer afterwards.

The user calibration feature allows for easy calibration to in house standards when required. Additionally, there is an RS232 port for recording block temperature activity. An available data-logging software package is used to link the unit to a computer.

An extra and important feature is the stainless steel block chamber within the digital dry baths. These act as a heat sink with a uniform transfer of heat from the heating elements to the interchangeable blocks. As a result all the samples receive the same temperature treatment regardless of their position in the block due to the excellent block uniformity.

This flexible range also offers two bath models: A single block unit which will accept all of the standard blocks and a dual unit which will accept two standard blocks or one specially designed block. They come already supplied with a block lifter.
