Nonlinear announces TT900 S2S now incorporates SameSpots for a new approach to 2D image analysis

22 Mar 2006

Nonlinear Dynamics Ltd, a leading global provider of bioinformatics solutions, today announced a revolutionary new approach in generating statistically valid results from 2D image analysis data using the latest version of TT900 S2S.

TT900 S2S is an advanced image alignment solution for highly accurate 2D gel image analysis. The new release incorporates SameSpots, a spot detection algorithm for single stain or DIGE images that can be applied within any of the Progenesis PG analysis products. These combined technologies, showcased at the recent ABRF and US HUPO conferences, produce 100% matching and eliminate the problem of missing values within 2D gel image analysis data. This finally allows proteomics researchers to apply robust statistical tests as part of their analysis workflow.

Dr David Bramwell, Technical Director of Nonlinear Dynamics said, “The challenge 2D users faced was that traditional spot detection and matching methods yielded numerous missing values which inevitably reduces the power of subsequent statistical analysis. By enabling 100% matching across all gels in the experiment, the SameSpots feature improves data quality and drives increased statistical accuracy to highlight significant changes in protein expression between different groups.”

John Spreadbury, Group Sales and Marketing Director of Nonlinear Dynamics and CEO, Nonlinear USA Inc, said: “Following its release at the end of 2005, TT900 S2S has received considerable interest from proteomics users as a fresh and innovative approach to 2D image analysis. We are delighted to announce this latest development to the product which will refine the 2D gel image analysis workflow while simultaneously improving data quality and statistical confidence in results.”
