Tosoh Bioscience GmbH introduces new TSK-GEL ODS-100V columns, which incorporate the most recent RP bonding chemistry. Adding polarity to the bonded alkyl phase, qualifies the TSK-GEL ODS-100V columns to overcome “bonded phase collapse” and decline of retention times under aqueous mobile phase conditions. Tosoh researchers developed a new, alternative method that imparts the columns with enhanced retention of polar solutes by applying a low density bonded phase that is fully accessible to water molecules.

The TSKgel ODS-100V columns contain high purity 5 µm and 3 µm silica particles with 100 Å pores and 450 m2/g surface area, functionalized by a unique bifunctional octadecylsilane. The low density C18 monolayer is fully endcapped with two unique bifunctional dialkylsilane reagents to improve the peak shape of basic compounds. This maintains stable analysis times in low organic or aqueous mobile phases.

This new category of TSKgel ODS-100V columns is suitable for LC/MS(/MS) applications, conventional and high throughput analysis. A Batch Inspection Datasheet comes along with the individual Inspection Datasheet of the column, and for support of Method Development three different lots can be supplied. Columns are available in dimensions from 1mm ID up to 4,6mm ID.

TSKgel ODS-100V 5 µm and 3 µm columns proof to be a powerful tool for the daily challenges in HPLC Method Development.
