Olympus Introduces Versatile New Colour Camera for Material and Life Science
14 Apr 2009Olympus has introduced the new SC30 easy-to-use colour camera for high quality microscopy imaging. With superior resolution and quality, outstanding colour reproduction is ensured. Suitable for use in both material and life science applications, this camera is designed to capture fast frame rates and has an excellent cost-to-performance ratio. This makes it an ideal introductory model for any applications requiring digital image acquisition.
With a native resolution of 2048 x 1532 pixels and multiple binning modes (2x, 3x, and 4x), the SC30 camera is able to achieve high levels of sensitivity and fast frame rates during live cell imaging. Using the 4x binning mode, 49 frames per second (fps) can be captured at a resolution of 508 x 384 pixels. Furthermore, exposure times can be set from 57 µs to 1.75 s, enabling the user to be in complete control of the image acquisition process.
Using a 3.3 megapixel CMOS chip, the SC30 camera is excellent for use in standard brightfield applications, as well as for simple digital documentation purposes.
Once obtained, data is easily transferrable via a single, high-speed USB 2.0 cable. In combination with the Olympus cell and analysis software packages, the user is able to ensure seamless and precise coordination of the microscope, camera and any peripheral devices. Compatible with Windows XP and Vista, this colour microscope camera is simple to integrate into almost any life or material science laboratory.
