Online video causes a stir

2 Oct 2006

Radleys has introduced onto its website a video presentation demonstrating the simple assembly, set-up and operation of the Tornado IS-6 Overhead Stirring System - a unique tool that enables powerful, controlled stirring of up to six reactions (50-250ml) in parallel.

Synthetic chemistry laboratories worldwide have benefited considerably from the Tornado IS6. Built to seamlessly integrate with a wide range of overhead stirrers Tornado evenly distributes high torque to all positions of Radleys market-leading Carousel 6 Reaction Station. The result is powerful, parallel overhead stirring even when faced with highly viscous liquids. At its most powerful, Tornado can stir reaction mixtures of up to 10,000 cps at 500rpm. The system is also well suited for dispersing delicate solids or resins in low viscosity solutions.

Downloadable as a standard Windows Media Player file, the streaming video shows how the Tornado IS6 rapidly connects directly onto the 6-place Carousel Reaction Station and integrates with a range of different overhead stirrers without the need for tools. This provides chemists with a versatile, modular, parallel synthesis station at a fraction of the cost of any comparable reaction system. The video also shows how the Tornado IS6 is extremely easy to use and includes a range of time-saving features such as the tool-free "Pinch-Grip" mechanism for fast removal or exchange of stirrer shafts and a unique stirrer sealing system that allows stirring up to six flasks while under vacuum or an inert atmosphere.
