Voltammetry (VA) and Cyclic Voltammetric Stripping Analysis (CVS) are now available for routine analysis in the plant. With its integrated potentiostat/galvanostat, the new ProcessLab-VA/CVS system opens up an important analytical application area. While voltammetry is used for classical trace analysis, CVS is used for determining organic additives in electroplating baths.

The design of the analysis system is straightforward and compact thanks to the integration ofthe 797 VA Computrace potentiostat/galvanostat. All components are contained in a robust housing with splash-water protection for use in rough production environments. A control unit with a touch screen provides easy and convenient operation via the user interface of the simplified ProcessLab software. Defined analysis sequences can be started with a simple press of a button, thereby ensuring error-free operation.

Typical application areas:
• Metal traces, such as Cu, Cd, Zn, and Pb in water, waste water, and sea water
• Metal ions in salts and pure chemicals
• Cd, Tl and other metal ions in zinc electrowinning solutions
• Analysis of organics such as 4-carboxybenzaldehyde in terephthalic acid (PET production)
• Determination of organic additives such as brighteners, suppressors, and levelers in acidic copper baths

Due to the close proximity to the process, the relevant results are available immediately after analysis, thus eliminating long wait periods for lab analysis results. ProcessLab-VA/CVS is consequently ideally suited for quick and independent process monitoring in the plant.
