Scientists Share Lab Experiences in Record Numbers to Accelerate Science on a Global Scale
Last month, more scientists than ever before left product reviews on SelectScience, helping up to 2 million peers around the world advance their own work
29 Apr 2019A record number of scientists posted lab product reviews on SelectScience® last month in recognition of the growing importance of communication in science – five times as many as in 2018.
Each one of these thousands of reviews helps up to 2 million other scientists around the globe choose the best product for their work, helping to advance science and saving them vital time, money and resources in the battle for a healthier future.
Scientists share their reviews on SelectScience for a number of reasons, but all with one overarching goal – to make a difference. Some of those reasons include:
- To support up to 2 million fellow scientists
- To shape future lab technologies
- To provide feedback to the industry
- To be the first to review a new product
This is how Jenny Xiang, Professor of Research in Microbiology and Immunology at Weill Cornell Medical College, New York, puts it: "Writing a lab product review is to share your experiences with others, helping new customers determine the right product for them."
Professor Tim Long
Virginia Tech University
Scientists also love to read the opinions of their peers around the world on a trusted, fully moderated platform. Our analysis shows that 96% of scientists expect to read independent reviews and testimonials prior to making a lab purchase.
One such scientist is Gary Campbell, a Senior Research Scientist for Sanofi Pasteur, who explains: “I use SelectScience as I believe it to be the best source of unbiased expert opinion on equipment and services.”
As a thank you to all our reviewers, SelectScience offers exclusive perks such as regular competitions and chances to win great prizes such as iPads or $400 Amazon Gift Cards in our bi-monthly drawing.
With all this in mind, it’s little wonder that record-breaking numbers of scientists are joining the communication revolution and sharing their knowledge on SelectScience – to help accelerate scientific progress right across the globe.
