After years of waiting, preparative chromatographers finally have a fast, low-solvent, open-bed purification solution for all of their small molecule duties. The new Thar SFC-MS Prep 100, the new flagship product for Thar Instruments, Inc. allows for high sample volumes (up to 5mL), high flow rates (up to 100 mL/min) and larger columns (2 and 3 cm ID).

The new product, featuring the Waters® 3100 single-quad mass spectrometer is “the most significant product launch in our company’s history” according to Thar Instrument’s president Harbaksh Sidhu. Prep Chromatographers always wanted a seamless open-bed purification system to complement their RP-HPLC systems and Thar supplied that solution earlier this year in the form of the SFC-MS Prep 30. Now, however, with the higher flow rates of the new 100 system, many users can actually replace their current HPLC systems with SFC. Using the Waters 2767 for both automated sampling and fraction collection in concert with MassLynx™/FractionLynx™, the system provides high throughput in a format already familiar to many chemists. To complement this, the new Analytical-2-Prep™ 10-column oven from Thar enables the use of 4.6 to 30mm inner diameter columns
