Sterilin Limited, the established leader in single use laboratory products for life science applications, presents the Iwaki® range of glass cell culture and biotechnology products. Offering the superior optical clarity of an ultra thin (0.175±0.02mm) and uniform glass base relative to conventional polystyrene-based products, the Iwaki glass-based dishes and multiwell plates are ideal for high-transmittance microscope scanning. These products have been designed to allow the fluorescent measurement of live and dead cells at a higher magnification than that achievable through plastic dishes.

With live cell imaging fast becoming commonplace in many research laboratories, confocal microscopes offer high-speed, high-precision detections and time-lapse assays. The range of Iwaki glass-based dishes, assay plates and culture plates, as recommended by Leica Microsystems, offer unrivalled optical clarity in which the researcher can run increasingly complex cell biology techniques. As confocal imaging becomes more prominent, researchers demand higher quality glassware for use with their imaging systems, where typically ‘homemade’ or lower-quality glass-based products have been the only option.

The design of the culture plates, with their low-based black frame and chimney-well design, reduces well-to-well cross-talk and contamination. The wells are less than 0.5mm above the bottom line of the plate’s outer frame, and offer the perfect solution for many applications, including cell based assay detections, fluorescent detections, DNA protein interactions and receptor-ligand recognition detected through fluorescent probes.

Sterilin Limited offers a wide range of products for the pharmaceutical, clinical and healthcare, food, forensics and industrial packaging industries.
