TacticID-GP Used for Department of Defense Simulations

17 Nov 2014

B&W Tek, Inc., an advanced instrumentation company that delivers lab quality Raman spectroscopy solutions through user-friendly mobile platforms, is pleased to announce that the TaciticID-GP handheld Raman spectrometer has been very well received thus far with military users.

In early November, the TacticID-GP was integrated into a 3 day Department of Defense explosive disposal simulation near Washington D.C. The function of the military simulations was to educate U.S. Explosive Ordinance Disposal soldiers on the latest handheld Raman identification equipment available. Over the 3 day intensive training, elite soldiers used the TacticID-GP in a variety of elaborately simulated, realistic scenarios including remediation of a terrorist -improvised explosives lab, car bomb scenario, toxic industrial chemical spill and more.

With the largest library in the industry of narcotics, pharmaceutical drugs, explosives, hazardous materials, precursors, cutting agents and more, the TacticID-GP is an invaluable tool for all levels of law enforcement and is quickly garnering a reputation in the industry as the ‘king of mixture analysis’. Unlike competitive instruments available, the TacticID-GP features robust chemometric mixture analysis capable of delivering up to 10 components of a mixed street sample.

The TacticID-GP has been very well received thus far with military users who appreciate the ease of use, extensive on-board and customizable libraries and best-in-class complex mixture analysis results. B&W Tek continues to make strides with global military forces, law enforcement, hazmat teams, bomb squads and more. We are honored and proud to contribute to the ongoing war against terror, not only in the U.S. but around the world.
