Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. has unveiled the high-performance Thermo Scientific TSQ 8000 triple quadrupole GC-MS/MS system. This reliable, easy-to-use system enables faster, more precise, more accurate analyses, saving time and reducing laboratory costs. It is designed for routine applications including the identification of food and environmental contaminants and trace compound quantitation or confirmation in forensic toxicology and sports doping laboratories.

The company is featuring the new TSQ 8000 system within the Thermo Scientific booth at the Congress Centre, Riva de Garda, Italy, May 27 – June 1.

The TSQ 8000 GC-MS/MS system is designed to make it easier to realize the analytical advantages of GC-triple quadrupole methodology. The higher performance provided by the system enables analysts to view their target compounds at lower concentration levels, making new analyses possible and increasing confidence in results. By reducing errors and removing the need for repeat injections of the same sample, the new instrument also reduces costs and saves time in the laboratory. In addition, the greater selectivity of the instrument enables the analysis of more complex matrices, reducing the need for sample preparation and improving turnaround times and throughput.

The TSQ 8000 GC-MS/MS system features state-of-the-art software for rapid and easy set-up and use, even for non-experts. The new system revolutionizes MS/MS method development with AutoSRM, a new program that automates much of the tedious work needed to create and optimize SRM transitions. Whether the starting point is a full-scan or SIM method, or the user is starting from scratch, AutoSRM guides analysts to fully optimized SRM transitions, making triple quadrupole technology more accessible than ever.

The TSQ 8000 system is also compatible with Thermo Scientific TraceFinder software, which can be used by other GC-MS and LC-MS systems, and makes routine quantitation and targeted screening simple, fast and productive.

“The TSQ 8000 GC-MS/MS offers next-generation performance and reliability that can help food safety, environmental and forensic toxicology laboratories address current and future regulatory requirements,” said Jason Cole, GC-triple quadrupole product manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific. “Despite its powerful features and intuitive software, the instrument is easy to set-up and provides current single quadrupole GC-MS users with immediate time- and cost-saving benefits.”
