Thermo Fisher Scientific today introduced new Thermo Scientific Pierce Protein Gels. The Pierce® Protein Gels use a special formulation that produces gels that are up to 10 times stronger than regular gels. This formulation, combined with Tris-HEPES-SDS running buffer, offers fast separation and excellent resolution of proteins.

The Pierce Protein Gels have a novel red-dyed stacking gel that makes the wells highly visible and easier to load. The reinforced wells do not fall over and are resistant to damage when loading protein samples. The well fingers extend above the plate, decreasing the chance of well-to-well contamination. The updated cassette design does not require the removal of combs or tape and makes gel removal easy, with no special tools required.

The Pierce Protein Gels are available in 4-8 percent, 4-20 percent or 12 percent acrylamide. Gel formats include 12- and 17-wells, with 20 or 35 microliter capacity, respectively. The cassettes are compatible with 10 cm x 10 cm gel systems. The gels have a long shelf life of one year from date of purchase.
