Thermo Fisher Scientific, the world leader in serving science, announces that its informatics solutions have won Scientific Computing’s 2007 Readers’ Choice Awards in four categories – more than any other vendor. The awards represent the company’s end-to-end informatics offering including CDS (Chromatography Data Systems), Spectroscopy Software, LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) and Bioinformatics. Each year approximately 45,000 scientific and IT managers vote for the best products in their field, and this year Thermo Scientific Atlas™ CDS, SampleManager™ LIMS, Kinetica™ bioinformatics software and GRAMS spectroscopy software achieved winning nominations.

Dave Champagne, vice president and general manager of informatics at Thermo Fisher Scientific, comments: “This recognition demonstrates the strength of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s informatics offerings in the marketplace and underscores the support we have from our customers. Users provide a valuable, independent testimonial and to receive nominations for our entire range of product offerings is extremely rewarding.”

Thermo Scientific SampleManager is the most widely installed LIMS in the world. Designed for implementation in organizations seeking a LIMS suitable for all their laboratories, SampleManager enables scientists to enhance productivity and harmonize processes.

Thermo Scientific Kinetica offers fast high-throughput data analysis for clinical discovery and drug delivery applications. The software provides a broad collection of tools to meet the needs of scientists in a range of disciplines and facilitates data analysis while reducing the need for multiple software packages.

Thermo Scientific Atlas, an enterprise CDS, is designed to scale up from a single workstation to multi-channel, multi-user client/server implementations. The system is ideal for use in networked, secure and regulated environments and can control hundreds of instruments from a wide variety of vendors.

Thermo Scientific GRAMS is a desktop spectroscopy data processing and reporting software, relied upon by scientists worldwide for managing data from FT-IR, NIR, Raman, UV-Vis, Fluorescence, NMR and hyphenated instruments manufactured by multiple vendors. With the capability to interface to more than 150 instruments, including leading Thermo Scientific spectroscopy and chromatography products, GRAMS’ use of open standards has made it the platform of choice for customers and third parties working in both regulated and unregulated environments.
