Thermo Fisher Scientific Showcases Pathology Solutions at IBMS Congress
5 Oct 2011Thermo Fisher Scientific showcased some of its latest products for anatomical pathology applications, at the IBMS Congress last week.
Delegates were given the opportunity to view the new Thermo Scientific STP 420ES Tissue Processor for high-throughput tissue processing. This new processor allows faster turnaround times for LEAN workflow and same-day diagnosis. Using a dual chamber design, the Thermo Scientific STP 420ES can process up to 420 cassettes per run. The first and second chambers hold 360 and 60 cassettes respectively, allowing for the independent processing of STAT samples as well as special or difficult tissues in the second chamber.
Also at the Thermo Fisher Scientific stand, delegates were given the opportunity to see the Thermo Scientific CryoStar NX70 Cryostat for higher sectioning quality and increased user comfort. The Thermo Scientific Cryostar NX70 is simple to use with intuitive LCD display and electronic touch-screen with joystick control. Intelligent design combines user comfort with Rapid Response Temperature Control and an innovative knife carrier feed to deliver precise section thickness and consistency.
Both processors offer higher performance and increased flexibility, allowing for easier control of laboratory workflow. Also on display at the Thermo stand were the Autostainer and Quanto Reagents; and PrintMate and SlideMate from its slide labelling and tracking product ranges.
