The AACC Annual Meeting and Clinical Lab Expo has once again been a huge success for the Annual Association for Clinical Chemistry. The Expo was the scene of multiple new product launches, demonstrations and showcases. Read on to discover our top picks of the news from the exhibition show floor.

1. DRG® Showcased the New Hepcidin 25 (bioactive) HS Elisa

DRG International showcased the NEW DRG® Hepcidin 25 (bioactive) HS (High Sensitive) ELISA Kit (EIA-5782). As the first of its kind to market, this kit accurately detects bioactive Hepcidin levels as an additional marker to aid in identifying a variety of disorders.

2. Scientists’ Choice Award® for Best New Clinical Laboratory Product Announced

SelectScience announced the Beckman Coulter Diagnostics Access AMH Assay as the winner of the 2015 Scientists’ Choice Award® for the Best New Clinical Laboratory Product of 2014. The winning product is an innovative automated anti-Müllerian hormone test that is helping to improve fertility assessment and treatment and was voted for by SelectScience members.

3. Beckman Coulter Diagnostics Demonstrated Solutions to Balance Better Care and Efficiency

Beckman Coulter Diagnostics showcased its comprehensive portfolio of high-productivity analytical and workflow systems. Clinical Lab Expo attendees were invited to the Beckman Coulter booth to experience this year’s theme – “Balance Better Patient Care and Efficiency” – to learn how laboratories are achieving clinical, operational and financial goals by partnering with Beckman Coulter.

4. New Clinical Diagnostic Solutions for Allergy and Autoimmune Testing Displayed

Thermo Fisher Scientific showcased an array of solutions to aid in the diagnosis of allergy and autoimmune diseases. The Phadia™ 2500E Laboratory System, ImmunoCAP™ Allergen Components (currently under FDA review) for Hazelnut, Walnut, and Cashew Nut, and EliA™ PR3s, MPOs and GBM Assays (recently FDA Cleared), all made their debut at the AACC Lab Expo.

5. Siemens Revealed New Clinical and Workflow IVD Solutions

Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics revealed its latest in vitro diagnostic solutions — including the recently FDA-cleared ADVIA Centaur XPT Immunoassay System. In addition to featuring its portfolio of multidisciplinary solutions designed for use in hospital, reference, and physician office laboratories and near patients’ bedsides, the booth also highlighted how Siemens’ customers around the world are achieving their clinical and workflow goals.

6. New Bench-Top Clinical Chemistry Analyzer Launched by EKF Diagnostics

EKF Diagnostics announced the international launch of the Altair™ 240 clinical chemistry analyzer. This new bench-top platform represents EKF Diagnostics’ first fully integrated chemistry system designed for the global market. EKF also highlighted the latest additions to its range of Stanbio liquid-stable, LiquiColor®and Liqui-UV® clinical chemistry reagents.
