A technical ventilation of safety cabinets is useful in many cases and depending on the assembly conditions required by law. Up to now this has meant a major installation effort. With the new exhaust-air-attachment, in short UFA, a highly practical and comfortable solution is presented by asecos.

The UFA is a plug & play recirculating air filter system with an integrated activated-carbon filter. To install the unit you simply place the UFA on top of the safety cabinet and the air extraction of the connected cabinet begins immediately.

Your advantages

The UFA provides an air-exchange of at least ten-times inside the cabinet. With this a technically save and regulation sufficient air extraction of safety cabinets while storing flammable liquids is warranted. You can choose the location for your safety cabinet with more flexibility, because there is no external pipe-work connected to the cabinet.

The operation – tested safety

The integrated active-carbon filter adsorbs solvent vapours with an efficiency of up to 99.999%. The excellent filtration performance was tested by the independent testing Institute Infraserv GmbH & Co. Hoechst KG.

The cleaned exhaust-air is returned to atmosphere, and the UFA is extremely quiet during operation.

Additional security is provided by the permanent filter-saturation-control, which gives a viewable alarm signal in cause of a breakdown. Another safety-related plus is a potential-free contact, which can be used as an automatic transmission of the failure signal to a control centre.

Why should you use the UFA?

Today, thousands of safety cabinets within Europe are not technically ventilated. Reasons for this are various from listed building status, to already existing recirculating air plant, which has already met its capacity limit. Often it is not economically justifiable to build a new exhaust-air-plant.

Depending on economical as well as installation circumstances, the technical ventilation of safety cabinets is mostly abandoned. Additional to this the operator of the cabinet is confronted with the negative fact, that there has to be an explosion-proof area around the cabinet, because with every opening of the doors, odours and hazardous fumes leak of the cabinet.
