The Alexys Neurotransmitter Analyzer utilizes the separation power of sub-2 μm packed columns. The system is based on a single channel configuration with kits for common neutronsmitters: epinephrine, norepinephrine, serotonin and metabolites, GABA & glutamate or acetylcholine & choline etc. The system can be extended with several options and kits for any combination of neurotransmitters. The method is optimized for small sample volumes with femtomole detection limits.

On-line Microdialysis

Applying an external electric valve instead of an autosampler makes the system suitable for sampling directly from the microdialysis flow. On-line microdialysis offers the unique possibility to obtain real time feedback on neurochemical changes. The extremely short run time in UHPLC facilitates a high temporal resolution.

The Neurotransmitter Analyzer has several complementary kits for specific applications. Columns are all 1 mm ID and where possible the sub-2 μm packing is applied. All critical parts have an improved pressure rating, not only the LC 110S pump but also the autosampler, the pulsedampener and all connecting tubing and fittings. For GABA and Glutamate analysis an additional pump is applied to eliminate late eluting peaks with a step gradient.

The ALEXYS system comprises the following parts:
- AS 110 autosampler, cool, micro, UHPLC
- LC 110S HPLC pump
- OR 110 organiser rack, UHPLC
- Clarity data acquisition software
- DECADE II electrochemical detector, SCC.
