This balance was the perfect balance between capacity and sensitivity in a package we coiuld actually afford. I also especially love the split side on the draft shield as it allows for easy access to the balance without having to be far from the wall.

Sample weighing for titration
For accuracy and stability at a reasonable price, the Ohaus Adventurer AX622 balance is an excellent choice. The built-in bubble level keeps the platform centred and flat, improving the accuracy of the sample weight. We currently have two in our lab. One is new, replacing an older, yet still reliable Ohaus balance that had been in place for nearly 9 years. The older unit was just beginning to drift and lose tare between samples. Repair and labour would have been almost as much as a new unit, so we replaced the unit. The other balance is about 3 years old and is dependable and accurate. We expect the newer unit to last for quite a while. Both units have an RS232 port and a USB type B port to ensure connectivity to older and newer lab equipment and computers. The large display makes for quick reading of results and has the option of backlighting. The integrated touch panel keeps spills out of the electronics.
