The Class II, Biological Safety Cabinet is an open-front ventilated cabinet.
This cabinet provides a ULPA-filtered re-circulated mass airflow within the workspace. The exhaust air from the cabinet is also filtered by an ULPA filter. Thus, the Class II biosafety cabinet protects the product as well as to human beings and the environment.
While ULPA filters are effective for trapping particulates and infectious agents, it is suitable for the containment of biohazardous material thereby providing a sterile environment for cell culture. Thus, a Class II cabinet is the most versatile and economical model.
