The central detection unit holds the sensor chip with the parallel execution of up to five different binding experiments. The active temperature control system enables individually adjustable measuring temperatures from 10 to 40°C. In combination with the autosampler this enables a complete series of measurements executed in a fully automated fashion. In addition to the detection of binding events the sam5 can display changes in structural properties of investigated analytes, especially viscoelastic properties, e.g. membrane integrity.
