Does not work for PBMC

Average Rating 1.3

Application Area:

count cells (live and dead) in suspension

Unfortunately the instrument and/or the software can not handle primary cells isolated from blood. This is our main application. However, as the cell sizes are too variable, the instrument is not able to quantify our isolated cells.

Easy to use, accurate. Reproducible results.

Average Rating 5.0

Application Area:

Cell counting and viability

Easy to use, the effectiveness is high enough. Results are reproducible. This instrument greatly increases the consistency of our experiments. It's 10x faster than manual counting, no need for washing or contamination, so it will be excellent for decreasing time consumption and increasing accuracy.

Replicate counts not very similar!

Average Rating 4.3

Application Area:

Cell counting and viability

Easy to use, but unless you are meticulous about how you collect and prep your samples, and load the counting slides, it's very hard to get multiple counts that are within 15% CVs! I've had to recount nearly all my samples on occasions, other times only a couple. Rarely, none need recounting.

We count thousand times per day, and we will be like w/o hands w/o this instrument.

Average Rating 4.3

Application Area:

Count cells used for muscle differentiation

The effectiveness is high enough. Results are reproducible that is important for experiments. I put 5 stars for ease to use - it is true: you fill out the counter chamber, make the focus and press count button. About sales care: we have had the Cellometer for 4 years w/o any repair. Value for money: extremely expensive.

This instrument has greatly increased the consistency of our experiments.

Average Rating 5.0

Application Area:

Count human PBMCs

This is best cell counter we have ever used. Within a minute, all the calculations and concentrations are available. The results are consistent and all of our experiments have been streamlined.

Cell Viability

This is a very easy-to-use, compact bench-top cellometer. It comes pre-loaded with a variety of counting assay based on the cell type you are working with. The use of AOPI combination Live/Dead staining increases the accuracy and reproducibility of live cell counts and is not dependent on optical focusing as in other similar devices, like the Countess. It is definitely worth the money.

Cellometer Auto 2000 Cell Viability Counter for Primary Cells.

The Auto 2000 utilizes bright field imaging and dual-fluorescence imaging to quickly and accurately identify and count individual cells. Cell count, concentration, diameter, and % viability are automatically calculated and reported.

The Cellometer Auto 2000 is specifically optimized for analysis of primary cells from peripheral blood, cord blood, bone marrow, and other complex samples for use in a wide range of research areas.

Dual-color fluorescence allows for staining of live and dead nucleated cells, generating accurate viability results even in the presence of debris, platelets, and red blood cells. Accurate analysis of both 'messy' and 'clean' samples enables the Auto 2000 to evaluate samples at a variety of points throughout sample processing - from initial collection, to separation, to cryopreservation.
