Cellometer K2 Image Cytometer
Analysis for hepatocytes, splenocytes, stem cells and other complex primary cells.
Cell therapy
Excellent system. Provides highly accurate cell counts and viability assessments using AO/PI reagent. Bright-field imaging component adds extra confidence in ensuring cells (not debris) are being counted. Sales and technical team are super knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with.

Immuno-oncology
We love our Cellometer K2. We tried many many other cell counters like the Countess and the TC20 and have been disappointed with them. Quite simply they have been unable to count accurately and reliabily. We ended up moving back to manual cell counting because our downstream assays were too important and too expensive to make a mistake with the cell counts. Nexcelom called one day and introduced their Cellometers. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much but it has changed our lives forever. Gone are the days of manual cell counting and we can now reliably and quickly count thousands of cells in a few seconds. Thoroughly recommended for the awesome machines and fantastic customer support.

Cell counting and viability in transplantation
Bright field imaging and dual fluorescence instrument that allows quick and accurate cell counts, sizing and viability when working in an environment where time is critical as a transplant laboratory. Allowed us to standardize methods for flow cytometry (flow crossmatch and bone marrow apheresis).

Live/dead cell counts
Using the Nexcelom K2 has greatly reduced the amount of time we spend doing live/dead cell counts. We were previously using a hemacytometer and cell counter to visually count & track live/dead cells. The Nexcelom K2 has reduced the amount of human error involved in cell counts & removed any possible eye strain that we were experiencing in physically counting cells ourselves.

Cell viability
The Cellometer K2, coupled with ViaStain AOPI stain, allows users to easily stain nucleated cells in samples containing red blood cells. No lysis buffer is required, which makes getting results very quick.

Count cells for plate survival assay
There are two in our laboratory, the instrument is very easy to use, the operation is simple, the number of cells measured is very accurate, and it's very convenient to do the survival assay and the proliferation experiment. The only bad thing is that the chamber is more expensive, so we buy the big package at one time.

Count cells, establishing viral titre
This instrument is quite valuable and has a plethora of uses. We initially bought it to count cells and measure their concentration, but once we realized we could use it to measure viral titre by measuring the diameter of the infected sf9 cells we were greatly impressed.

Cell counting
This unit works fast to get accurate and precise numbers. It takes a fraction of the time trypan blue or other manual methods for cell counting. It allows for greater throughput of samples and great simplifies our workload. It is simple to use and miles ahead of any of the competitors.

Cell counting, generating Sf9 viral titre
I really enjoy using the K2 for cell counting. It's effective and cuts down on a lot of time. I appreciate the fact that I can save counts and go back in to change parameters as needed. More than the instrument itself, I've found their technical services department extremely useful. They get back to you promptly and offer very extensive advise.

The Cellometer K2 offers both bright field imaging and fixed Red (Ex 540nm / Em 660nm) and Green (Ex 470nm / Em 535) fluorescent optics modules. It is specifically designed for analysis of complex primary cells such as hepatocytes and adipocytes. FCS Express software is used for the analysis and presentation of data from cell-based assays such as cell cycle, apoptosis and GFP transfection. The Cellometer software captures and analyzes images in less than 30 seconds to provide count, concentration and viability measurements. Data and images are auto-saved and can be auto-printed.
