DPX new – without teratogenic DBP plasticizer for use in histology processes with xylene.
In histology, users are in frequent contact with hazardous reagents. During fixation, histoprocessing, staining and mounting, laboratory technicians and pathologists are surrounded by solvents and solvent-containing solutions. These can cause health problems, as they may, for example, be carcinogenic or teratogenic.
- Di-N-Butyl Phthalate in Xylene (DPX) new no longer contains the ingredient Dibutyl phthalate (DBP), which is teratogenic and normally used as plasticizer.Further development of well-established mounting medium DPX.
- No admixture of the teratogenic ingredient DBP, used as a plasticizer: Lower health risk for users in histology laboratories.
- Refractive index and viscosity are comparable to DPX mounting medium.
