The DyNA Light Transilluminator provides an intense and consistent ultraviolet source for viewing fluorescently stained gels. Suitable for both analytical and preparative work, this unit's large viewing surface will accommodate all popular gel sizes.
Dual Intensity:
The intensity of the UV light can be adjusted to two different levels: normal or low at the touch of a button.
The normal position provides full intensity for short exposures and quality analytical documentation work.
The low position provides a 20% reduction in intensity. This minimizes bleaching and nicking, and allows for the longer exposures required in preparatory work.
Midrange Wavelength:
The DyNA Light's UV source emits radiation at a wavelength of 302 nm. This provides the best and most intense fluorescence for ethidium bromide stained gels while minimizing the damage caused to DNA by lower wavelengths.
Large Viewing Surface:
The DyNA Light features a viewing surface of 21 x 26 cm. This allows large gels to be viewed and photographed in their entirety.
UV Protective Cover:
A transparent cover of 100% UV blocking acrylic covers the viewing surface to protect the user from exposure to potentially harmful UV radiation. Hinges attach the cover to the housing, allowing it to be raised and adjusted to the proper angle for safely viewing samples.
UV Filter Guard:
The filter guard protects the UV filter and extends its life up to 5000 hours. Solarization, which can interfere with intensity and generally reduces filter life, is dramatically decreased. The filter guard also provides exceptionally even illumination across the viewing surface.
