Good analyzer with a good fit for a small to mid-sized laboratory.

Average Rating 3.7

Application Area:

general chemistry

Optimal general chemistry analyzer for a small to mid-sized laboratory. The platform has a relatively small footprint and is self contained. Being a wet system, the calibration has an average stability which leads to frequent calibrations and high accuracy. The electrolyte module is sensitive with calibration needed every four hours. The manufacturer provided electrodes are not high quality but they do work, some times requiring replacement electrodes which are very expensive. If a third vendor, such as McKesson, is used to purchase consumables then the cost is extremely high. If the consumables can be purchased direct from the manufacturer then the cost is very competitive to other platforms. Service and support is excellent. Excellent performance on proficiency testing events.

Envoy has served us well.

Average Rating 4.0

Application Area:

General chemistries, crp

I like the Envoy500. It's faster than our old analyzer. One issue I have is with ISE's. Occasionally I have to repeat the calibration several times. Even though I wash them before every use. Also I find I am leery of the cholesterol results lately. There seems to be quite a few low ones. I do compare to the patient's previous and will repeat ones I am unsure of. Other than that it has served us well the years we have had it.

Decent analyzer. I have ran several analyzers that are less needy.

Average Rating 3.0

Application Area:

Analyze metabolites in patient blood samples

I feel that the analyzer is not as reliable as many other analyzers that I have ran and is very needy. You have to constantly be standing over the analyzer to replace reagents, to rerun patients, to change the waste and also they do not have a tech support that comes to the site to do a yearly PM or to fix any part of the analyzer. We as patient care techs have to work on the analyzer like we went to school to work on analyzers instead of taking care of patients.

Clinical chemistry testing in POL lab

Envoy has been a good instrument in this POL lab. ISEs can be sensitive but when we experience problems they can usually be solved with the help of tech support.

Chemistry in our clinic

Very user friendly. Cost and availability of reagents, controls, calibrators and consumables is great, available through several distributors. Learning curve is not high, good workhorse. Does many tests not available on other systems. Support tech team is very friendly and knowledgable with it's fast response time. Short downtime if any. Customer service is always friendly and attentive to our needs. Distributor sales rep is always available and quick to help. Fast and accurate results.

The Envoy 500+ by ELITech performs approximately 500 tests per hour, allowing it to handle the workload of the busiest labs.

The Envoy 500+ delivers the time and money saving features your lab requires with an integrated four-parameter Dry ISE module, reusable glass cuvettes, positive sample and reagent identification, clot detection, liquid level sensing and many more. Plus, the Envoy 500+ is backed by the best service and support in the industry.

Features:

Software

  • Touch Screen
The Envoy® 500+ has a built-in LCD touch screen and is driven by the Windows® operating system. This provides greater ease of use and space savings by eliminating a bulky external monitor and CPU.
  • Quality Control
Quality Control results are stored in memory and easily displayed on the screen. QC can be evaluated using up to six Westgard rules and displayed with either the theoretical or calculated means.
  • Pre-Programmed Parameters
The Envoy reagent application parameters are pre-loaded into the software, saving you time and eliminating the possibility of data entry mistakes.

Reagent Handling

  • Large Capacity
The Envoy 500+ holds up to 40 individual Envoy reagents (mono or dual), providing a longer walk-away operation.
  • Refrigerated Reagent Tray
Onboard refrigeration and storage ensures reagent stability, which increases reliability of results, while lowering laboratory costs.
  • Continuous Inventory Monitoring
Continuous inventory monitoring enables the operator to know the number of tests remaining for each reagent, minimizing waste.
  • Positive Reagent Identification
The reagent chamber contains an infrared barcode scanner capable of scanning Envoy barcoded reagents, automatically recognizing reagent position and lot information.

Sample Handling

  • Sample Wheel
The Envoy 500+ sample wheel has 52 positions available for patient samples and 26 for calibrators and controls providing your laboratory high throughput capability. Primary tubes or sample cups can be used, providing the testing flexibility you need.
  • Clot Detection and Liquid Level Sensing
Clot detection and Liquid level sensing prevents reporting of invalid results from an insufficient or difficult sample. This ensures accurate results and proper treatment decisions.
  • Positive Sample Identification
The sample chamber contains an infared barcode scanner, capable of scanning your patient barcodes, eliminating the need to manually enter patient information and reducing the risk of sample errors that can cost you time and money.

Dry ISE

  • Dry Electrodes
The Envoy 500+ utilizes a proven, dry, solid-state ISE (Ion Selective Electrode) that doesn’t need to be kept wet, reducing reagent consumption.
  • Four Parameters
The ISE system has four electrodes, Na+, K+, Cl- and CO2, providing a complete test panel without adding an enzymatic procedure or using a traditional ‘wet’ electrode. This significantly reduces costs and maintenance time, while increasing reliability of results.

Reaction Cuvettes

  • Glass Cuvettes
The Envoy 500+ contains 34 reusable glass cuvettes that are automatically washed on board, which eliminates the cost of expensive disposable cuvettes.
  • Increased Walk-away Time
The reusable glass cuvettes also provide your lab longer walk-away time than a system using disposable cuvettes, which requires you to return to the instrument to reload cuvettes on a regular basis.
