ExiProgen™ system is a breakthrough in synthetic biology that allows for rapid, small-scale in vitro synthesis and purification of up to 16 different proteins per run.
System automation allows for a simple template-DNA-input, purified-protein-output workflow in approximately 6 hours. The E.coli- based transcription/translation system is designed to maximize efficiency and yield by taking advantage of instrument features including a precision-temperature-controlled heating block, which consistently maintains optimal synthesis conditions. Purification of the expressed protein is carried out by His-tag purification using Bioneer’s nickel-magnetic beads. The net result is up to 100 ug of >90% pure protein(s), which is kept at 4 °C on the built-in cooling block after purification is complete. The system provides several great advantages to traditional protein expression methods, including simultaneous expression of multiple species of proteins, and the ability to express proteins that would otherwise cause cellular toxicity in cell-based expression methods. The Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) control included within the kit ensures that the run was successful, and with an available system-optimized vector, performance can be increased even further. ExiProgen™ can also purify nucleic acids from a variety of sample types, making it one of the most versatile systems available.
