Application Area:

Molecular Diagnostics

This kit was primarily used for DNA extraction for the detection of GMO events. I found the instructions fairly straight forward and the kit was easy to use. All reagents were labelled well, and some even colored for ease of use (ie: pink genomic lyse buffer & wash buffer). The kit is on the expensive side, but when used for our purpose, margins allow for it's use. Quantification results are very consistent, and we have no issues with downstream amplification and results. Service support was only required very minimally, but we were pleased with the support and advice given in regards to modifications to our protocol. Overall, I recommend this product.

Fast ID is a single, easy-to-use DNA extraction kit suitable for a variety of sample types.

Fast ID provides high yields of exceptionally pure DNA from a wide variety of sample types including seeds, fruits, vegetables, plants, microbes and clinical specimens. Fast ID contains powerful denaturants and DNA-selective reagents that are specifically designed to prevent DNA degradation and to remove contaminants that might inhibit the PCR reaction or generate artifactual DNA template-primer interactions. The extracted and purified DNA is suitable for any molecular biology procedure, including but not limited to PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) amplification, restriction digestion, cloning, and sequencing.

Special Features:

  • Superior PCR efficiency
  • Works on a variety of sample matrices
  • Yields highly pure DNA
  • DNA suitable for multiple downstream molecular biology applications

Appropriate for the following sample types:

  • Seeds
  • Plants
  • Food, feed, allergens
  • Animal Tissue
  • Blood
  • Formalin fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue
  • Clinical specimens
  • Microbes
