Centrifugation - cell culture
It is a pleasure to use this centrifuge. I mainly use it for pelleting cells in either 50 or 30ml tubes but it also has a range of buckets and rotors for 15ml and microcentrifuge tubes. The controls are every intuitive to use and easily changed. I regularly use the settings store for routine work. The centrifuge is the quietist I have known which is important in a busy lab. The acceleration and deacceleration setting are easy to use and invaluable when running discontinuous gradients for cell separation. The containment system for hazardous samples such human blood samples work on a clip system and is a big improvement on screw on tops. Cleaning the centrifuge interior and exterior surfaces is simple and hassle free and aides’ good hygiene practices. The temperature control is excellent and responds quickly. The temperature control enables me to control the conditions of my cell separation procedures regardless of the large changes in the ambient temperature during the year.
