Looks good but could be built better
Pipette aid
Going from old school Drummond XP2 pipette aids to the Gilson Macroman seemed like a good idea. The macroman looks and feels very nice in the hand. However, the build quality could be better. The nose piece is only held on by 3-4 very thin plastic notches that can be easily broken. It would be better if it screwed on to the main body with a proper thread instead. Also the battery cover clip can be easily broken too. Another issue is that the pressure sensitive triggers don't always increase the flow in an even manner. In some cases once you reach a certain point pressing the trigger the fluid will suddenly flow out quickly, even on low speed settings. This is very annoying when trying to pipette small but equal volumes of fluid. This was noticed with some of the pipettes right out of the box, so it is not through wear and tear. This could be some kind of electronic calibration issue. Overall, it is hard to recommend this pipette aid in it's current form. Perhaps a newer version will address these issues and elevate it to a truly robust and dependable lab instrument.

Cell culture and plaque assay
This is the most disappointing product I have ever received. The pipette does not hold liquid in it from the first use. Within a week and a half I tried to get the pipette replaced and the sales person said 'too bad that's not covered under warranty'. This product is a scam and the customer service is a joke. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! I also tried looking for other reviews online for this product and have not found one.
