The GS Junior Titanium emPCR Kit (Lib-A) provides reagents for the amplification of an Amplicon library from a single effective (i.e., functionally clonal) bead-bound copy of the DNA template to tens of millions of copies per bead, amenable to sequencing with the GS Junior Instrument using the appropriate GS Junior Titanium kits.

One of the main advantages of the emPCR Amplification process is that, while the entire procedure is performed batch-wise on the whole library, clonality is achieved by the physical segregation of the DNA-carrying beads in an emulsion during the in vitro amplification. As the result, the procedure does not require prior biological cloning of the template fragments. Furthermore, this process permits the sequencing of individual molecules out of a complex mixture, allowing the detection of rare molecular species (low expression cDNA, rare allele, etc.).
