Excellent Workhorse for labs
Drug substance, drug products, tissue samples etc
I rarely had issues with this instrument. Instrument parts are easy to disassemble and clean by the user. I analyzed different types of samples with this instrument such as pharmaceuticals, tissue samples, blood samples, clothes etc and got quality results. I am very impressed with this instrument

Intuitive software!
Trace metals and major cation analysis data processing
Software is easy to use and intuitive due to the process workflow layout and the ability to select various functions at least two different ways (e.g. the ability to click an icon and also select from dropdown menu). Data layout is also easily customizable. Customer support has been great and Agilent Technologies personnel are always willing to help and provide support in a timely manner. What is lacking but would be a useful function is the ability to set times (i.e. schedule) for the plasma to turn on/off.

It is something similar to its brother LC-MS Mass Hunter but not the same.
Speciation of Cr III/Cr VI
We use an ICP-MS 7900 series and we have an ICP version of Mass Hunter. At the beginning, it can be quite confusing but once you pass the learning curve, it is very intuitive and easy to use. It is a powerful tool to carry on elemental analysis. Absolutely recommendable.

Analysis of Heavy Metals Content
The Mass Hunter software is exceedingly more robust, versatile, and manageable when compared to the dated ChemStation software. The Mass Hunter software allows the ability to streamline general testing, while maintaining the ability to thoroughly investigate and develop new/existing methods. Mass Hunter is much more focused on icon usage when compared to ChemStation, which frequently relies on mouse right-clicking options in order to perform and/or review actions/data. The type of software that works best typically is dependent on the user's preference, but Mass Hunter does offer a setup/organization of options that are easier to sift through, even if you have little knowledge of the software.
