Modified DNA/RNA synthesis
The base synthesizer itself is good, software has improved a lot since BioAutomation first started selling them. There are issues with the engineering support and customization options since acquisition by LGC. The same exact instrument setup is sold for 1umol synthesis as 100umol synthesis despite there being significant differences in what optimized setups for each scale actually are. The LGC ownership has stifled the ability to get customized engineering to better suit our needs at larger scale synthesis of highly modified DNA probes. Delivery times for everything have increased drastically with LGC management too, for everything from instrument delivery, service visits, and especially consumable shipments.

The MerMade 12 Oligonucleotide synthesizer is designed to synthesize DNA, RNA and LNA oligonucleotides in a column format using standard or modified chemistries. The Mermade 12 is ideal for a lab requiring medium throughput with maximum flexibility. This instrument has been placed in many universities, pharma and diagnostic companies operating in cGMP environments. The machine is available in a 12-column configuration with up to 24 amidite positions. It is capable of making a combination of standard, degenerate, and modified oligos in the same run with scales varying from 50nmole to 200umole (over 400umole with certain supports). Synthesis time depends on chemistry and desired product quality but a typical run time is less than 2 hours for 12 columns of DNA 20mers. No other machine offers the flexibility, upgrade ability, dependability, efficiency and ease of use than the MM 12 at any cost. Please contact our Sales department for pricing.
