PiBind is a resin that can be used to eliminate contaminating phosphate from buffers and reagents used in phosphatase/ATPase assays in order to give extremely low backgrounds.
It may also be used as a rapid alternative to desalting or dialysis for removal of Pi from tissue extracts. The resin has a very high affinity for Pi (>40µmol/g) and is unaffected by high salt (eg 1M NaCl) and reducing agents (2mM DTT), and is stable to a range of buffer conditions from pH8 (Tris) down to pH2.3 (glycine).
