Analyze the protein amount on the SDS PAGE gel
It is very easy to use, and has long shelf life. I always re-use it for at least five times with very clear visible protein bands. The price is affordable and the quality is very good.

Ponceau S is the sodium salt of a diazo dye and is a suitable reagent for use in electrophoresis studies.
The Ponceau S stain comes ready-to-use and is designed for rapid (5 min) staining of protein bands on nitrocellulose or PVDF membranes (Western blots) and also for staining protein on cellulose acetate membranes. It may be employed as stain for the purified fibrinolytic enzyme (CK) for the analysis of N-terminal amino acid sequence of the first 14 residues of CK by a protein sequencer. Ponceau S staining on nitrocellulose and PVDF is reversible by washing the stained membrane with 0.1M NaOH for 1 minute. The stained and destained membrane can then be immunologically detected (Western blotting).
