Deliver reagents with serological pipette
The pipet-aid XL comes with a clip-on stand. I use it with a disposable serological pipette to deliver reagents and alcohols for molecular testing. The aspiration and dispense modes can be adjusted to fast, medium, and slow speeds. I've used glass and plastic pipettes. The adjustable hand rest provides comfort for each user. Filters can be changed out with ease. Decontamination can be accomplished with a bactericidal/virucidal wipe.

Good Pipet Aid for cell culture.
Cell culture
The one I use is very easy to use. Good speed control. Nice with the stand. Price is a bit high though. Would be better if it could be charged with a USB charging cord.

It is effective in the applications used. It is easy to use and care for with out a lot of expense of sending it out for repair. The ability to order different parts and repair in-house saves a lot of time and money.

Great product, however experienced some issues after prolonged use.
Tissue culture
Works very well for the first 6 months. Love that it's plug and play and very easy to use. Also enjoy that you can change the speed of the aspiration/dispensation which is very helpful. One issue that we have found though is that sometimes when you depress the button, it doesn't activate the motor. Not a battery issue, but we have had this recurrent issue with several of our pipettes.

The Pipet-Aid is very useful for large volumes. It is nice to be able to change the speed of intake and release. The stand is also useful to prevent the pipet tip from touching the table if I want to re-use it and reduce waste. Its design is ergonomic and easy to operate.

Preparation of various drugs
We have had a few members of our group with RSI and this unit was recommended by our company’s ergonomics team. Initially, I purchased one but then received great responses from the lab members so ended up purchasing 1 for each lab (total of 6). The unit is very easy & light to use and the disposable serological pipets are shorter in length which is a plus. We had these units in our labs for about 6 months and they appear to be functioning great. It is pricey but worth the money as it eases the RSI in our lab.

Best pipet-aid for working in cell culture hood.
Cell culture
The Drummond pipet-aid excel is an ergonomic style pipeter. It has helped limit shoulder/neck pain resulting from pipetting in biological safety cabinets (cell culture hoods) many hours per day. It limits the need to raise your arm while pipetting. The design allows the user to rest your elbow on the hood edge to save your shoulder from becoming over-used and tired. I am an older bench scientist and absolutely depend on this product.

The ergonomic design includes an adjustable sliding hand rest and a removable stand which enables the unit to be set down without contaminating the pipet. The Portable Pipet-Aid XL also features a new quieter, more powerful pump, and a new EZ Grip nosepiece. The unit is supplied complete with power supply/charger, 4 extra filters, and a holster type wall bracket, and a removable stand.
