mRNA extraction and purification from cell culture
I recently had the pleasure of using the Zymo RNA Clean and Concentrator and I am extremely impressed with its performance. The RNA purification process is incredibly effective and I was able to obtain high-quality RNA from my samples. This kit is a staple in our lab for cleaning up and isolating RNA.
To clean and concentration RNA samples after basic RNA isolation using Trizol
We love this product for both cleaning up and concentrating RNA for qRTPCR applications. We like to isolate our RNA with Trizol, but there is sometimes Trizol carry over. This kit always gives us great quality RNA and concentrates is for qRTPCR requirements. This also allows for a DNAse step on the column like other RNA isolation kits. Super easy to use, ordering and getting technical help is always quick, and this kit is comparable in cost with other isolation kits.

Clean up RNA
I honestly was not initially sold on Zymo because, for whatever reason, their Direct-zol columns have never worked for me (RNA is either degraded or simply not there), so I was skeptical, but it turns out that the RNA clean and concentrator kit I purchased was not only cheap, but I got it within three days (unusual these days when everything is on backorder). Most importantly, the results were great. I think part of it has to do with how narrow the silica columns are compared to other kits like Qiagen. This means you can elute in a smaller volume, thereby concentrating the RNA upon desalting it (hence the name). Definitely would recommend for those working on gene expression.

Good and cost-effective RNA purification kit!
Purification of in vitro transcribed RNA
Since we routinely need to purify in vitro transcribed RNA, we have tested several RNA purification kits (e.g. Qiagen, Bio-Rad, NEB, etc) in terms of yield, quality, time, and cost. The RNA Clean & Concentrator kit consistently gave us the best yield among all column-based kits. The RNA quality is the same against other kits but it is significantly cheaper than Qiagen and NEB. The protocol has 1-2 steps more than buffer exchange type systems, but the additional time is tolerable. The only problem we have experienced was that this kit is frequently back ordered as of late, probably because of the increase in RNA extraction needs due to COVID-19.

RNA cleanup for small amount of RNA (less than 5ng and the size above 150 nt)
We used this product for fragmented RNA cleanup of CLIP-seq and it works very well for small amounts of RNA purification, less than 5 ng. In addition, we also used it to purify the total RNA for total RNA-seq, and 10 microgram of RNA after DNase treatment were flowed for each column. It is very helpful in our rearch.

RNA Clean & Concentrator™-25 provides a simple and reliable method for the rapid preparation of up to 50 µg of high-quality RT-PCR-ready RNA. This simple procedure is based on the use of a unique single-buffer system and Zymo-Spin™ column technology that allows for selective recovery of total RNA (> 17 nt), large RNAs (> 200 nt), and/or small RNAs (17-200 nt).
The procedure is easy: Add binding buffer and ethanol to your sample, then bind, wash and elute ultra pure RNA. The RNA can be eluted from the Zymo-Spin™ IIC Column in as little as ≥25 µl of RNase-free water. The highly-concentrated, purified RNA is suitable for all subsequent analyses and molecular manipulations.
The entire procedure typically takes about 5 minutes.
