Rtx®-1 Columns
Rtx®-1 columns exhibit long lifetime and very low bleed at high operating temperatures. A proprietary synthesis process eliminates residual catalysts that could cause degradation and increase bleed. • General purpose columns for solvent impurities, PCB congeners (e.g. Aroclor mixes), simulated distillation, drugs of abuse, gases, natural gas odorants, sulfur compounds, essential oils, hydrocarbons, semivolatiles, pesticides,…
Separations
These columns provide very reproducible results. They have a very long lifetime and are very robust.

Gas analysis
Easy to install, however retentions times of new column were not the same as the original. Customer service or tech support could not answer why.

Analysis of nonpolar petrochemical samples
Rtx®/MXT®-1 columns are ideal for the analysis of nonpolar petrochemical samples, such as detailed hydrocarbon analysis, hydrocarbon gases, petroleum oxygenates, petroleum aromatics, fuels, waxes, oils, sulfur compounds, mercaptans, and carbon disulfide. It also is an excellent phase for solvents, chemicals, flavors, fragrances, essential oils, air toxins, chlorofluorocarbons, arson analysis, and high-temperature applications.

Analysis of degradation products of hydrocarbons in the environment
The Rtx-1 column is the standard column in our lab, meaning it has the most applicable coating for the purposes of our research. It would not be the standard unless it was easy to use, reliable, and consistent between columns. Service of the column is relatively easy, but I wish it was easier to come across column cutters (it is always hard to find the one or two in the lab). Our lab also has applications where we need to remove the column from its rack. It is quite a process at times. I would like to be able to more easily remove/unwind the column from the rack, and even get some feedback on how to properly wind it back up if needed. I am not sure if those kind of tutorials exist.
