Analysis of the properties of axons
The microfluidic chambers are easy to use and can be reused many times. Neurons and the growth of their processes are easily visualised both using bright field and fluorescence microscopy. The design allows the axonal and somal sides of the chamber to isolate, which leads to the design of axon or somal specific reagent interactions. Other designs in the microfluidic chambers lend themselves to more complex experimental designs. I would recommend the Xona SND150 for anyone interested in axonal and somal specific biology.
