Streptavidin and Conjugates
Using biotinylated secondary antibodies along with conjugated streptavidin is a robust means of signal amplification. Conjugates of streptavidin are recommended for use with Biotin-SP-conjugated affinity-purified secondary antibodies and Biotin-SP-conjugated ChromPure proteins. We offer a comprehensive list of fluorophores and enzymes conjugated to streptavidin for use in enzyme immunoassays, immunohistochemistry, flow c…

I used it with a dilution of 1:200 or sometimes 1:400 in PBS containing 1% BSA and it always worked. I have my cell incubated in wells of a 96 well plate in 100 microL, so I need only 0.5 microL of the St-APC/sample. Background was very low.

I have used both the Rhodamine Red™-X (RRX) Streptavidin and Cy™3 Streptavidin. Both give robust staining with little photo-bleaching. Rhodamine Red is 2/3 of the price of Cy3 and has a better spectra when working with GFP or Alexa-488 probes.
