Blue Sky Biotech's TDA 2.0™ is a stable lipid-based nanoparticle with nickel-chelating moieties for use in assembling purified histidine-tagged proteins which are normally membrane associated. TDA 2.0™ allows scientists to study membrane-associated proteins in a way that restores the essential biological environment created by the cell membrane. This synthetic template restores the organizing features of the membrane without the difficulties of membranous preparations and tedious reconstitution procedures. It has been demonstrated that membrane associated protein assays developed in conjunction with TDA 2.0™ show dramatic increases in enzymatic activity, reduced manganese requirements in the assay buffer and preference for biologically relevant substrates.
