MéCour does not make a single "standard or universal thermal insert" that fits any plate on the market. All plates are designed differently, i.e., spacing between wells and surface plate sits on or the particular design of the plate well itself. Inserts are made to accommodate virtually any consumable used in labs today. The original intention for designing the MéCour thermal inserts was to afford maximum flexibility to end user, allowing the use of multiple different plates with their respective thermal inserts.
These inserts ensure uniform temperature distribution from thermal blocks through to all plate wells. Thermal inserts are recommended for temperature sensitive applications such as biological and cell-based assays, enzymatic processes and more.
