Overall SpeedVacs like this you buy once and keep forever! Even when parts break or fall off, it is easy to find replacement parts or attempt to fix them with anything on hand. Results are very reproducible with standard DNA solutions and protein solutions, especially if the liquids contain more volatile easily evaporated solutions like ethanol or isopropanol. For solutions that contain mixtures of solutions with different vapor points, results can vary widely.
