DNA analysis:
Agarose-gel electrophoresis visualization of undigested DNA predominantly appears as two bands of approximately 20 kb and 60 – 100 kb in length. Restriction-enzyme digest DNA incubation with Eco RI (4 U/µg DNA) for 18 h at 37°C results in visibly digested DNA.
RNA analysis:
Formaldehyde-agarose gel visualization of RNA isolated from rat shows two intact ribosomal bands. Northern blot analysis visualizes intact β-actin mRNA.
