I am typing this review out of pure anger and misery as I am trapped inside the lab at 9.45 pm because of this cursed product. On the user manual, it says it will concentrate 8x in 20 min, which is a total hokum. For a simple 8x concentration, this product takes a minimum of 1 hour and 15 min. I am pretty sure my sample is not the problem as I used another type of filter parallel to this as a control (with the same hole size) and that whole procedure finished 4 hours ago, also I did 4 technical control it all shows the same thing. Now I am not even halfway concentrating on all my samples and I can not pause this procedure. I am counting the minutes that I will miss my last train to go home otherwise I will waste my samples.

There are a number of variables such a processing conditions and sample composition, which can impact on speed of ultrafiltration. Vivacon® 500 are centrifugal units for fast DNA concentration and buffer exchange of 500 µl samples. They are also the product of choice for protein fractionation applications. The use of Hydrosart® membranes results in high recoveries from dilute samples. Complete recovery of the concentrate is guaranteed by a reverse spinning step.
