The workstation has largely improved the ease of experimental procedure in our laboratory. We have attained a very high quality set of conditions for our work. My personal favorite is the adjustable screen display which makes control very easy!

Application Area:

Anaerobic culture of bacteria

Easy to use and always working fine. This incubator is instrumental in the culture of anaerobic bacteria. We use it every day with full satisfaction. It is very easy to import the plates, takes only 1 minute. It is very easy to set the system using the touchscreen. The capacity of the incubator is the only restriction, but it you want more capacity (for instance if you want to work with two persons at the same time), you can buy the A55, which is also awesome.

Great piece of equipment that no microbiology lab should be without

Application Area:

Culture of anaerobic bacteria

Forget about anaerobic jars! If you are regularly working with anaerobes, you need one of these. The initial installation and training was extremely professional and logical. Very easy piece of equipment to use. No problems growing anaerobes. Always gives consistent results due to the atmosphere being kept constant. The airlock is very intuitive and although slightly small, is very quick at purging the air. Several colleagues find our cabinet invaluable. Good quality build and excellent care package/maintenance contract.

Application Area:

Incubation and Examination of Anaerobic Microorganisms

It is a very effective anaerobic chamber because you can be sure that the conditions of the chamber are the same as the bacteria that you want to isolate, examine and incubate. It is very easy to use. I can easily say that the DWS A35 is the best anaerobic chamber ever!

Easy to use, economical and continuously monitored internal conditions.

Application Area:

Routine NHS specimen culture

Workstation is easy to use. The main advantage is being able to load and unload larger amounts of culture plates in one go. It has lower running costs as the airlock uses Nitrogen gas rather than anaerobic mixture. All the parameters e.g. temperature, O2, humidity etc. are monitored continually and can be interrogated if required, which is an advantage when considering EUCAS accreditation. The only downside we've found is that after heavy use i.e. first thing in the morning it can take a while for the O2 concentration to fall back to <=0.1

The recently launched Whitley A35 Workstation has been developed specifically for anaerobic microbiology.

A revolutionary new porthole system allows entry to the chamber in seconds and needs neither gloves nor sleeves. Sample manipulation within a secure anaerobic environment is now as easy as working aerobically on the laboratory bench.

Features:

  • Built-in rapid airlock
  • Intuitive, colour, touch-screen control panel
  • Modern, ergonomic design
  • Maximised incubation capacity
  • Dual gas operation
  • Automatic commissioning cycle

A major advantage of the sleeveless system is that it uses eight times less gas when entering the workstation compared with a conventional porthole system. The airlock is flushed with nitrogen as
an additional cost-saving.

Whatever your application, we can tailor the Whitley A35 Workstation to your requirements. For example, if you want to be able to use electrical equipment inside the chamber, you could include the option
of an internal double electrical socket. If you require the ability to thoroughly sanitise your workstation between experiments or need to introduce large items of equipment, you may want to specify the
optional removable front.

The A35 Workstation will accommodate between 410-750 x 90mm Petri dishes depending on whether plate carriers are used and which accessories and system options have been incorporated.
